December 2006 Stampin' Highlight from Meg
Tips for Many Merry Cards
'Tis the season! I know many of us are preparing
our Christmas cards, and I want to share some tips
with you that can help your stamping process move
smoothly.
Some stampers like to create a wide variety of
one-of-a-kind creations, while others pick one
design that they love and reproduce it many times.
Either way is fine, but here are some ideas that
will help you make the most of your time with either
style of stamping.
For one-of-a-kind creations:
- begin with 2-3 colors of ink and cardstock and re-combine these colors several times to create unique cards before moving on to a different set of colors
- pick out several stamp sets that coordinate and play with re-combining the different images on cardstock that is cut to a single size
- choose one type of accessory: brads, buttons or eyelets, etc.; use the item different ways on cards that are otherwise similar
- select a card template from my Template Gallery and copy the template with different stamps or colors

For reproducing your favorite card many times:
- create the sample you want to reproduce
- cut all your cardstock to the correct sizes
using a paper cutter with a ruler attachment
- pick one element of the card and stamp all the
instances of that image
- if the image has a cardstock layer, assemble all
those layers next
- finish the remaining elements of the card
assembly line style: complete all of each action
before going on to the next element
As with any stamping project, be sure to keep lots
of chocolate on hand. And if you can invite your
friends over to help you, do it! You could even
plan a mini-Christmas Card Creating Party where each
of you works on your own cards. The most important
thing is to enjoy your stamping.
