October 2006 Stampin' Highlight from Meg

Technique Focus: the "Erick"

Sometimes our family and friends have some great ideas that bring new light to our stamping!

Here's a great tip using the flower punch, would you believe that my husband, Erick, figured this out while watching TV? I guess that is what happens to "non-stampers" when there is a TV and a flower punch nearby!

Erick took the Spring Bouquet punch and using the largest flower on the punch he punched through a piece of paper.  Not too amazing? Well try folding the paper like my husband did, in the shape of a fan (cardstock is too heavy, try Stampin' Up! wrapping paper or Designer Series Papers).  Then with the paper still folded, punch out the flower.  When you unfold, it looks like a string of flowers. After Erick punched out the flowers, I brayered the wrapping paper to match my project. This project works best with the Daisy punch in the Idea Book & Catalog.

We like to call this technique "the Erick" in honor of my husband.

Just goes to show...it's the cool toys that get the guys excited about stamping!

A card created by fellow demonstrator, Tracy Altemose based on Erick's idea.
