August 2006 Stampin' Highlight from Meg
Mini Tag Albums
You may have seen these great projects in magazines or at stamping events recently--they are the newest combination of stamping and scrapbooking!
One of my favorite aspects of these little albums is that they're quick and easy to assemble. The Mini Tag Album is the perfect size to share with long-distance family members, remember a favorite vacation, or to have on hand when friends ask you about your pets/kids/new home/etc.!
And in under an hour, you can have the whole album assembled and ready to share!
Here are the supplies you’ll need:
Stamps for decorating
1 piece 12x12” Double-Sided Designer Paper
4 pieces cardstock for tags, 2-1/2 x 5”
Grosgrain Ribbon
Assorted accessories: Brads, 1-3/8” Circle Punch
The directions are simple:
Fold the Designer Paper in half and then fold again to make the “W” shape of the album.
Create your pockets by varying the height of the inner paper layer. Try folding a corner back, punching out a large circle, tearing an edge away or folding a panel down.
Stamp your tags and add ribbon or paper pull-tabs to the tops.
Add your photos. Remember you can use the fronts and backs of the tags, as well as the fronts of the pockets!
Add embellishments such as brads, stamped layers, titles and journaling.
Finally, close your keepsake by tying a length of Grosgrain Ribbon around the folded album.
I hope these albums are as fun for you as they have been for me. If you have pictures of your finished projects, I’d love to see them!
