January 2006 Stampin' Highlight from Meg
Have you noticed that
ribbons are everywhere? On cards? On
scrapbook pages? They're all the rage these days. 2. Did you know you can apply SNAIL Adhesive
directly to the back of SU!'s Grosgrain
ribbon? The adhesive and ribbon are exactly the
same width so they work perfectly together.
Happy Stamping! --MegHere are some ideas on how to incorporate
them into your projects:
Group them: Place 2-3 different colors or
types of ribbons together for more impact.
Grograins and gingham are a perfect mix.
Sample 1
Add them to tags: Ribbons are a terrific
tag accent, especially with the Tag Punch and the Too Terrific Tags
set (Sell-A-Bration 2006).
Sample 2
String card or page elements: Use a
length of ribbon to hang items on your card or
letters in a title for your scrapbook page.
Sample 3
Dress up hardware: Tie a ribbon around a
clip to soften the impact.
Sample 4
Combine Colors: Use several colors
together by tying scraps of different shades into a
knot.
Sample 5
Wrap them multiple times: Cord is very thin and will have extra visual impact if you wrap
it around an element 2-3 times.
Sample 6
Simple Knot or Bow: Tie a ribbon around
your card--keep in mind that large bows may require
extra postage while knots are generally thin enough
for a regular stamp.
Sample 7
1. When threading ribbons through holes, cut
your ribbon at a sharp angle to make the threading
easier. Then trim your ends after threading, to
remove frayed edges.
